101.01000 – In General

The MMBA expansively defines a covered “public agency” to include “every governmental subdivision, every district, every public and quasi-public corporation, every public agency and public service corporation and every town, city, county, city and county and municipal corporation, whether incorporated or not and whether chartered or not.” (MMBA, § 3501(c).) PERB interprets “governmental subdivisions” covered under MMBA section 3501(c) to correspond to “political subdivisions” excluded from the NLRA under 29 United States Code section 152(2).
